Did Ogyen Trinley Dorje really risk his life to escape the Chinese?

“Thankfully, for Ogyen Trinley Dorje to repatriate the late Bokar Rinpoche to China,” Osel says, “given His Holiness had just escaped the Chinese himself would have been unthinkable in 2004.”

“Today the Karmapa is obviously on board with repatriating diaspora Rinpoches to their monasteries in China,” Osel continues,” as his Karma Kagyu sect did to his predecessor the late Rangjung Rikpe Dorje in 1991.”

Osel pauses.

“It really is hard to believe that His Holiness could go there with our Traleg Rinpoche,” Nigel adds, “if he really did risk his life to escape the Chinese on December 28, 1999 like he claims.”

“That is some cold shit Ogyen Trinley Dorje did to Rinpoche,” Nigel continues, “repatriating someone we know to have risked his life to flee the Chinese diaspora to bloody fucking China of all places.”

    Pretty ironic.

What’s the point of fleeting if you are just going to be recognized back where you tried to escape from. Actually, it sounds like a hell realm to me…
