When Jamgon Kongtrul died in a car wreck it wasn’t an accident

Picture of Jamgön Kongrul who chose death rather than repatriate the Gyalwa Karmapa to Tsurphu Monastery in occupied Tibet

“Jamgon Kongtrul figured out what Situ Rinpoche was asking him to do,” Brian says, “his trip to Tibet wasn’t what he thought it was going to be.”

Brian pauses.

“His car wreck wasn’t an accident.”

Brian continues.

“Rather than repatriate the Gualwa Karmapa to Tsurphu monastery in occupied Tibet he killed himself instead.”

Perhaps he killed himself because both Situ Rinpoche AND Shamar Rinpoche repatriated Karmapa to Tibet. Thaye Dorje was born in Lhasa after all.

    This reads like film noir.

I love how Tenga Rinpoche for a long time sided with Shamar. It wasn’t until his final years that he crossed over. I was at the Kagyu Monlam just after his crossing over to the Trinley Dorje camp.

    Tenga Rinpoche had balls.

Tenzin seems to fancy himself Trinley Dorje’s representative, but I believe that’s all in his head at this point.

He’ll have his run of the place now that Khenpo Karthar had left to go to Tibet to oversee Traleg Yangsi’s official repatriation to Tibet. Seems everyone had blood on their hands these days…

I wish Traleg Khandro would share her thoughts on her late husbands repatriation back to the totalitarian state he tried to escape from.

    Karma is a bitch.
