“Situ Rinpoche’s point man on the ground in occupied Tibet,” Alice says, “was Akong Rinpoche, a highly regarded Diaspora Rinpoche living in Scotland.”

Alice pauses.

“He was murdered in China by a fellow Tibetan in a quarrel over money of all things.”

“Tragically, Akong Rinpoche escaped occupied Tibet to make a life for himself in the West,” Alice continues, “only to die there a ranking member of the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department.”
