Life in India as a diaspora Tibetan was killing Khenpo Karthar when we rescued him

A picture of Khenpo Karthar who came to us a diaspora Tibetan on a medical visa whom we rescued from certain death in India

“I put myself in Khenpo Karthar’s shoes,” Jeff says, “here on a medical visa dying of Tuberculosis.”

Jeff pauses.

“Life as a diaspora Tibetan in India was literally killing the man.”

Jeff adds.

“More Rinpoches died interred at Buxador by the Indian government as he was than would have died if they had remained in occupied Tibet.”
