An archeology of the origins of Tibetan Buddhism in the West

Picture of Tibetans practicing Buddhism which includes much which we want nothing to do with in our practice of Buddhism notwithstanding the belief of those post-diaspora Tibetans today whom believe we have no right to do so

“Even if it is true that Rangjung Rikpe’s people did murder a child and blinded his father for putting his son forth as the reincarnation of the Fifteenth Karmapa.”

Jonathan continues.

“It isn’t our place to take issue with anything whatsoever as it pertains to how Tibetans practice Buddhism, if it is Tibetan as Westerners we have no right to question it.”

Caroline replies.

“Chogyam Trungpa not only respected our right to question Tibetan tradition in our practice of Buddhism, in fact he encouraged us to do so.”

Caroline continues.

“As long as we brought that which we took exception to as it pertains to how Tibetans practice Buddhism to our practice.”

Caroline adds.

“And didn’t get hung up over how Tibetans practice Buddhism in the process.”

End scene. Fini.
