Jonathan begins.

“Welcome to the Karmapa in America 2016, the have jet will travel edition.”

Sally replies.

“So this is now a thing for us?”

Virginia replies.

“You say this like it is a bad thing that His Holiness has a private jet he can fly into New York from India as for a board meeting at his sect’s monastic seat here as needed.”

Caroline replies.

“OTD as head of multimillion dollar Chinese funded monastery project in Upstate New York.”

Virginia replies.

“So what?”

Sally replies.

“I don’t know how I feel about this.”

Virginia replies.

“Get with the program.”

Allen replies.

“Don’t forget the stupa for Zion, Illinois, OTD announced in 2015, another Chinese funded multimillion dollar project here.”

Virginia replies.

“Is this not what we want in a 17th Karmapa, a leader for the 21st century?”

Caroline replies.

“China’s soft power hard at work in America in the form of Ogyen Trinley Dorje as China’s choice for 17th Karmapa.”

Jonathan replies.

“With the collapse of China’s stock market OTD’s projects here are even more import to his Chinese stakeholders.”

Allen replies.

“At least we now know what the deal was with OTD’s Labrang issuing his cease and desist order last month to unsanctioned sources of information online about what His Holiness is up to.”

Caroline replies.

“There is nothing about this meeting from official sources.”

Virginia replies.

“You say that like it’s a bad thing.”

Sally replies.

“lama Kathy mentioned on Facebook that His Holiness was visiting KTD.”

Caroline replies.

“As a journalist she knows that any attempt to embargo information about this meeting will ultimately blow back on His Holiness.”

Virginia replies.

“She’s also a board member though and shouldn’t have leaked online that His Holiness was at KTD.”

Caroline replies.

“You say that like Lama Kathy not taking her marching orders from OTD’s Labrang in India is a bad thing for a member of KTD’s board of directors.”

Um. I wonderful what the deal with Lama Kathy is; why leak news of the Karmapa’s secret visit to KTD?

I wonder if she has anything to gain by bringing attention to the board meeting?

Maybe KKR is too sick to be honored at Monlam?

Anyone out of there have clues?

  2. Mike

Karmapa is not at KTD, he is in Bodh Gaya. He visited Nyingma Monlam there today.

    That’s some shitty Intel.

Who knows what the hell Lama Kathy is doing…

    • Uh, have jet, will travel.

      • Simone

Actually, I think I saw him at KTD (and I believe he is still there)- not up close but I saw him as he was gazing out of one of the windows of his quarters upstairs. Security was very tight up there yesterday- in fact it was very difficult to get on to the property. Was was able to bring a large offering of flowers and fruit though, and left them at the office.

I’m planning on going up the hill later this morning to try and do khora.

I pray that he brought his wisdom to the board meeting and that his blessings will remain whenever it is that he leaves.

        Karmapa Chenno!

  3. Friends may I respectively ask how you can accept so much secrecy and the involvement of the Chinese government ( the same government who committed genocide in Tibet ) in the selection, protection, and funding of this possible Karmapa? Please understand I ask in the most respectful way I can.

      • No takers, interested in honest dialog? No one has the courage to answer honestly?

        • Karma,

As much as you want my blog to be a forum for your ideas this doesn’t make it so.

Like it or not my readers aren’t here to discuss your ideas.

          Bill

          • Bill you are right, I am just really curious how the OTD supporters tick in order to understand each other. One day we might have the chance to to be one again. Understanding like this is not easy and often requires asking and answering of difficult questions and of course the courage to do both openly and honestly. If find your unique ability, writing style, and the level headed openness of your readers to be a good place for this. Much like Mahamudra practice, we must not only find the middle between the two Karmapas, but go beyond the middle. Perhaps only then will it all make sense. But that’s just me, and my ideas. Thank you Bill, have a nice day.
