I have to admit, it sure does look like a Chinese cult.

  2. And on top of it: I went to the OTD mönlam in 2014 and wanted to know he he is like. I’m a folower of Karmapa Thaye Dorje, but one has to stay open, anyway OTD is a high reincarnated Lama. I’m used to see “my” Karmapa easily, under the Bodhi tree you can approach, you are in touch with the situation. So on a sunny january day I went to the “Mönlam Pavillion” where OTD did his mönlam, or the Drubchö the days before. I went just to the entrance :

    “For monastic only”.

    OK. I thought

The lay people had shabby tents on a dusty fireld where the ceremony was transmitted to huge screens. Off I went, back to the Karma monastery, where I had an spontaneous interview with Beru Khyentse Rinpoche (formerly neutral, today follower (and teacher) of K Thaye Dorje). He is a Gyalwa Yabse, and an incarnation of the Great Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. Here he sat there with his wife, granted me without any hurry a 20 minutes interview. He was available for me.
So no matter if there is a “true” 17th Karmapa or not I knew (which due to evidence of the facts I believe its Thaye Dorje): On this “side” I’m right, there is contact, it’s about practice and not about media covering, meeting stars, important universities, Soros’ daughter and – there on this side are no signs of Chinese or other political interference.

    • Ted

      Wow! That’s quite a story.

What the hell is our sect doing? Monlam is like a cheap awards ceremony.

      • Dear Ted, we have been trying to tell you all how it is with us for quite some time now. The story from Karmapainfos is not unique at all, I have has several spontanious interviews with Karmapa Thaye Dorje, he is very open and aproachable.
