Ogyen Trinley Dorje just disqualified himself from any realistic chance he had to be accepted as the 17th Karmapa in the West with this statement

If Tibetans in exile believe this is true they are in for a very rude awakening here.

Now, in the long-running rivalry between the “Delhi Karmapa” and the “Chinese Karmapa”, the latter seems to have won, say close observers of the Tibetan diaspora.

With Thaye Dorje’s announcement on Thursday that he had married a “close childhood friend” last Saturday, the “Delhi Karmapa”, appeared to have disqualified himself from a realistic chance to be accepted as the 17th Karmapa.

That Ogyen Trinley Dorje can’t ‘disrobe’ disqualifies him from being the 17th Karmapa as far as we are concerned.

I think Ogyen Trinley breathing disqualifies him as Karmapa as far as you are concerned.

BTW – his UK trip itinerary has been posted on his website:

See, all comes to he who waits, Bill. Patience is paramita I believe.

Seems HHK will be addressing members of the British parliament at one point. Also an animal welfare event at Cambridge University. An interfaith event where he visits a Hindu temple. An event I think aimed principally for the British Tibetan community in Aldershot. Oh and a two-day teaching and Chenresig empowerment.

You were so right. What a total dumpster fire!
