    How so?
UK trip went very well. They had to hire a much bigger venue for his main teaching because of demand. OTD has also been granted a 2 year visa to the UK so expect to see more of him there. Canadian press seem to be giving quite a bit of coverage of the visit (more than in UK indeed).

Thaye Dorje’s marriage, and I wish him a long and happy one, is being seen by the Indian Govt as a symbolic throwing in of the towel as regards his Karmapa ambitions. Not that it makes him any less a Karmapa but shows he is no longer following the script that Shamar R wrote for him. And it was only Shamar’s buddies in the Indian Intelligence agencies that pushed the restrictions on OTD. As soon as Shamar passed, things got instantly easier for OTD and continue to do so.

Much as you may wish it not to be true, the Karmapa “controversy” – already long decided – is now fading as an issue for all but a few.

Do you examples of this negative press coverage perchance?

    • Ogyen Trinley Dorje avoided British Press for good reason.

      He can’t.

        What??

Didn’t see any “Karmapa Lama refuses to answer questions from free press” headlines anywhere.

        Grasping at straws again, Bill

        • Actually Karmapa Labrang declared a black out of all but official accounts of OTD’s activities last year.

There was no press coverage for London visit.

Nor will the press have access to OTD in Canada either.

Sorry you had to hear about this here.

No press for Ogyen Trinley Dorje.

Another similarity between OTD and Donald Trump.

The British press did not cover Ogyen Trinley Dorje’s London visit.

To prove me wrong is easy enough.

          Go for it.

The Guardian had been up in OTD’s business big time in the past.

          Not a peep this time.

Nor will there be a peep from OTD in the press for the foreseeable future either.

          He can’t.

The Panama Papers Kagyu Monlam scandal.

The disappearance of Jamgon Kongtrul the Fourth.

The disrobing of Karmapa Thaye Dorje.

Talk about a reversal of fortune.

In 2008 he was touted the successor to the Dalai Lama.

In 2017 he can’t even sit down with a reporter for an interview with a member of the British Press.

This is a big win for us and a huge loss for Ogyen Trinley Dorje’s New Translation of Tibetan Buddhism in the West.

          It doesn’t translate.

I am impressed you have a source in the Tsurphu Labrang (!). We are in the middle of an election here and the aftermath of a major terroist attack. The papers are likely not interested in talking to a minor foreign religious dignitary when they have lots of political scandal and terrorist murders to report. If OTD is purposely not talking to the press (which I doubt) it will be at the behest of the Indians or a condition of his UK visa as neither country want to draw the ire of the Chinese for giving him a platform. If some paper asked for an interview and was refused I think we’d have heard about it, something tells me.

Newly arrived in Canada he has given an interview to the Toronto Star. So he’s clearly not hiding from the press there. If the UK Guardian had wanted to write a take down article they would have done it this week. They didn’t. I read it everyday.

I also cannot for the life of me fathom what you think you have won here. I can even really work out who the “we” you claim to represent is? Thaye Dorje supporters? Boomer buddhists feeling left behind and unappreciated by the kids? OTD travels more and more widely. All the while you do PRC’s Govt work for them. None of the fake news you print here seems to be having any effect, thnakfully.

You’re an angry old man Bill, shouting at Tibetan kids to get off your lawn.

        • Where are those that agree with you.

They unlike you know better than to do as you can’t help yourself from doing.

          Talk about grasping at straws.

Please can you elaborate your comment “This is a big win for us and a huge loss for Ogyen Trinley Dorje’s New Translation of Tibetan Buddhism in the West.”

    Who is us?
    Who is winning here?

    Thanks
