How a homesick Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche destroyed the nomads of Yushu Prefecture

Bon Matin là,

Uptown, Argyle Avenue, Chicago, IL

The 16th Karmapa had died and my middle aged guru wanted to return to his birthplace, Yushu Prefecture, Qinghai Province, home to his beloved Thrangu Monastery which he fled to Tibet when the local Tibetan population turned on its monks whom were subsequently forced to escape to Tsurphu Monastery in Tibet for their live, a Tibetan against Tibetan conflict at this point, what later became the pretext for Chinese intervention in the name of law and order, and so on. In the beginning it was as innocent as this. It was on my guru’s bucket list. Rinpoche wanted to return home before he died.
