“As a lifelong card carrying member of the lay Karma Kagyu riff raff of America I have no problem with OTD relaunching KTD as a Chinese funded million dollar monastery complete with a young Tulku being raised there, as matter of authenticity.”

Allen continues.

“I’m all for OTD running off my fellow lay riff raff that have called KTD their home over the past thirty plus years.”

Karl replies.

“This isn’t what a I signed up for as an early adopter of the Karmapa in America.”

Karl continues.

“I’ve written many a desperately needed check to keep KTD alive over the years.”

Allen replies.

“If OTD’s Chinese followers here are willing to underwrite KTD being relaunched as a monastery, complete with a young Tulku in residence, instead of the destination for lay people it has hitherto been, this is no skin off my nose as a dharma practitioner.”

Allen pauses.

“As long as OTD is transparent about what he has done at KTD since the night of long knives.”

Sally replies.

“The night of long knives?”

Karl replies.

“KTD’s banishment of Bardor Tulku.”

Jonathan replies.

“At least we know what the deal was with OTD accepting BTR’s resignation from KTD’s board and subsequent banishment.”

Allen replies.

“In retrospect, as badly handled as it was, we can at least now with the benefit of hindsight see why OTD decided BTR had to go as such.”
